FRP WALL PANELS
FRP wall panels: a commercial project planning guide
Define FRP materials, finish details, substrate conditions, and installation scope before requesting a subcontractor bid.
What are FRP wall panels?
FRP stands for Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic. These panels provide a durable commercial wall finish, with standard and specialty options available to meet the project design. Finest City Acoustics furnishes and installs FRP wall panels as part of its commercial wall-system services.
Confirm the selected system
Share the specified manufacturer, panel type, finish, and any project-specific performance requirements. Review product information for the intended use; different products can have different characteristics. Include trim and transition details so the wall treatment is considered as a complete installation.
Review the substrate and installation instructions
The specified manufacturer’s instructions should guide substrate preparation, adhesive selection, conditioning, and spacing details. These requirements vary with the product and installation conditions. Provide the relevant instructions and known wall conditions with the project information. Marlite’s installation resources illustrate the importance of using guidance for the particular panel system.
Think through edges, openings, and transitions
Identify inside and outside corners, door frames, penetrations, and transitions to other materials. Show panel extents on the drawings. Clarifying the finished height and edge conditions helps the subcontractor understand material quantities and finishing requirements.
